Gym designs are the easiest thing to stitch and sell. The audience buys apparel constantly, the motifs are bold and low-density, and a good silhouette reads from across the room. This guide covers our full gym embroidery designs collection — 40+ files, digitized in-house by one designer and stitch-tested before release, in 6 machine formats (DST, EXP, JEF, PES, VP3, XXX) with a free PDF color chart.
Five families, depending on what you’re making: bodybuilding legends, energy cans, gym cartoons, Baki, and pure gym motifs.
| Design | Best for | Sizes | Price |
|---|---|---|---|
| Ronnie Coleman “Yeah Buddy” | The icon everyone recognises | 5.8–8.8″ | $7.99 |
| Monster Energy Ultra White | Caps & gym bags | 6.1–9.1″ | $7.99 |
| Baki Swoosh | Widest size range (6 sizes) | 3.8–9″ | $7.99 |
| Stitch & Angel Gym Bundle | His & hers cartoon pair | 4.9–6.9″ each | $10.99 |
| Gym Duo Bundle | Matching couple set | 5.8–7.8″ each | $11.99 |
| Light Weight Baby | Cheapest way to test us | 5.4–8.4″ | $2.99 |
Twelve silhouette designs of the figures gym culture actually quotes. All built on the same swoosh layout: a clean outline against a single sweep, few thread changes, and a shape that survives being scaled down to a cap front.
The Ronnie Coleman “Yeah Buddy” design is the most stitched of the group, and the one with the most customer photos in its gallery. Four sizes from 5.8 to 8.8 inches — the 8.8 works as a hoodie back, the 5.8 as a chest piece or a large gym-bag panel.

Arnold comes in three treatments, and the choice is really about thread count. The outline version (4.3 to 7.8 inches) is the lightest and the fastest to run. The black and white swoosh (5.7 to 7.7 inches) has more presence on a dark garment. The full colour version (3.8 to 6.8 inches) is the one to pick if you want the design to carry the whole garment on its own.

The rest of the family, all $7.99 and all in the same swoosh layout:
Four designs built around the pre-workout can, and they are among the most requested files in the whole gym collection. The Ultra White swoosh and the classic black swoosh share the same layout — can on a sweep, 6.1 to 9.1 inches, four sizes each. The white version reads better on dark fabric, the black one on light or heather grey.
Then there are the two Creation of Adam pieces, and they’re the most ambitious designs in this guide. Michelangelo’s two hands, one of them holding out a can instead of touching a finger — Ultra White version in seven sizes from 5 to 11 inches, or the black can version in four sizes from 7.4 to 10.4 inches. At 10 or 11 inches these are full jacket-back pieces, and the fresco reference does a lot of work with very little colour.

This is the part of the collection nobody else has. Twelve cartoon characters caught mid-workout, and they sell to a completely different buyer than the silhouettes: gift makers, kids’ apparel, and anyone who wants gym gear that isn’t shouting.
The Stitch & Angel bundle is the best seller of the group: two files, both characters flexing in front of a mirror, 4.9 to 6.9 inches each. It’s the his-and-hers set of the collection — one on each hoodie, or both on a single gym bag.

Patrick gets two designs and both land the joke. In the bench press version (5.8 to 8.8 inches) there’s a poster on the wall behind him. In the curl version (4.2 to 8.2 inches, 5 sizes) he’s picturing what he’ll look like afterwards. Stitched side by side on a set they read as a before/after.

Same mirror gag, two more files: the Tom & Jerry bundle at 4 to 7 inches each. Cat and mouse, both convinced. It’s the other his-and-hers option and it’s a dollar cheaper than the Stitch set.

The rest of the cartoon lineup:
Most anime characters aren’t built for gym apparel. Baki is the exception — the whole series is anatomy, and the back poses are basically bodybuilding plates with a manga outline. That makes these four the natural bridge between our gym collection and our anime embroidery designs.
The Baki Swoosh has the widest size range in this entire guide: six sizes, 3.8 to 9 inches, so the same file covers a cap front and a jacket back. It also has the most customer stitch-outs of any gym design we sell.

“Just Lift It” is the one that works as a standalone gym design even for people who’ve never watched the show — 4, 5 and 7 inches. Alongside it, the Baki swoosh in 5 sizes (4.8 to 8.8 inches) and the one-arm push-up design (6 to 8 inches), which is the most technically detailed of the four.

No characters, no licences — just the shapes gym apparel is built on. This is the family to start with if you sell finished garments, because nothing here ties the buyer to a fandom.
The Gym Duo bundle pairs the two best-selling silhouettes of the family — the bodybuilder breaking through the swoosh and the woman powerlifter — as two separate files at 5.8, 6.8 and 7.8 inches each. At $11.99 for both it’s the anchor of any matching set, and it’s the design people buy when they’re making gear for two.

Sold individually and by motif:
Three more designs play on the running jokes of gym culture rather than on training itself — the Trenbolone hand (5.9 to 8.9 inches) and its boxed version (5 sizes, 4 to 10 inches), both reworking the Creation of Adam gag, and the Creatine Monohydrate design (6 sizes, up to 11 inches). They’re worn as a wink between people who train together — read the room before you put one on a garment you’re selling.
Gym garments are the hardest thing to embroider well, and it has nothing to do with the design. It’s the fabric.
Performance fabric moves. Polyester and elastane blends stretch in every direction, so a design that looks perfect in the hoop puckers the moment the garment relaxes. Use a cut-away stabilizer, never tear-away, and hoop the stabilizer rather than the garment where you can. If your machine lets you drop the density slightly, do it — gym designs are bold shapes, they can afford it.
Placement, by garment:
Every design ships with all its sizes in the same download, so you’re never locked into one placement.
Cloud Designs isn’t a marketplace — every file is digitized in-house in Wilcom by one designer, then stitched on a real machine before it goes on the site. The ranking above follows what customers actually buy and photograph: the designs with images from real stitch-outs in this guide are exactly that, thread on fabric, sent in by people who bought the files. You can see more in the customer gallery, which holds over 1,600 of them.
Each download includes 6 formats — DST for Tajima, EXP for Melco, JEF for Janome, PES for Brother and Baby Lock, VP3 for Pfaff and Husqvarna, XXX for Singer — multiple sizes and a free PDF color chart. And with our permanent deal, you buy 3 designs and get 1 free, applied automatically at checkout.
All major home and commercial machines. Every design includes 6 formats — PES (Brother, Baby Lock), JEF (Janome), DST (Tajima), EXP (Melco), VP3 (Pfaff, Husqvarna Viking) and XXX (Singer) — so you just load the file your machine reads.
Use a cut-away stabilizer rather than tear-away, and hoop the stabilizer instead of the garment where your hoop allows it. Performance fabric recovers after stretching; tear-away doesn’t hold it, which is what causes the ripple around the design after the first wash.
Under 4.5 inches for cap fronts and chest placements — the Baki Swoosh starts at 3.8″ and the Arnold outline at 4.3″. For hoodie backs and jacket panels, 8 to 11 inches: Muhammad Ali goes to 9.5″, Rick’s Gym to 10″, and the Hand of God design to 11″.
Yes, provided the stabilizer is right. The failure point on gym apparel is almost never the stitching — it’s a tear-away backing giving up on a fabric that stretches. Wash inside out on a cool cycle and the design will outlast the garment.
You can stitch our designs on personal projects and handmade items. Several designs in this guide are fan-made interpretations of characters and public figures who remain the property of their respective owners, so large-scale commercial use is at your own discretion. The pure gym motifs carry no such attachment.
