We run this site. Putting ourselves at #1 is obviously self-serving. But it’s also accurate — for specific reasons — and we’ll tell you exactly where our competitors beat us.
4,000+ designs across 152 categories, all made by one person. That’s not a marketing line — it means stitch density, color logic and digitizing approach are consistent across the entire catalog. A One Piece design and an Attack on Titan design from us come from the same technical foundation. They’ll look like they belong together on the same jacket.
Every purchase includes all six major formats (DST, EXP, JEF, PES, VP3, XXX) and a PDF color chart. Download, open the chart, match your thread numbers, stitch. No format conversions, no reorders, no matching colors by eye at 11pm.

Where we fall short: We’re one person, not a team — responsive by email, but not at the speed of a dedicated support operation. Some series sit under “Other Anime” rather than having their own dedicated subcategory landing page. No how-to blog content yet. If you want to compare the same character digitized by a different creator, it’s worth looking at Embroiplanet alongside us.
Pricing: $6.99 after our standing discount. Buy 3, get 1 free — automatic, no code. That’s ~$5.24 per design when buying in sets, the lowest effective per-design cost on this list.
Best for: Anyone who wants format coverage, a color chart with every design, and consistent quality across 80+ anime categories.

Embroiplanet is an established anime embroidery site with 40+ subcategory pages and 2,300+ designs. It’s a useful second source for comparing design interpretations of the same characters from a different creator before committing to a purchase.
What they do well: A large accumulated catalog with a long track record. Their blog has useful how-to content for embroidery beginners.
What’s weaker: Cloud Designs has more total categories (59 vs their 40+) and a larger One Piece catalog (488 vs their 373 designs). Mobile experience is slow. Trustpilot score sits at 3.2/5 with some negative reviews on file quality and customer service. Creator identity is opaque — Wyoming address, support via Indian WhatsApp.
Pricing: Around $7.95 after standard discounts.
Best for: Comparing design styles from a second independent creator alongside Cloud Designs.

Embrovision has a long history in machine embroidery. Quality is consistently good. Their anime catalog covers roughly 15–20 series — the Big Three are well-represented, but newer or seasonal series are largely absent.
What they do well: File reliability. Clean digitizing, reasonable format options. For Naruto or One Piece from a site with a real track record, this is a safe choice.
What’s weaker: No Dandadan, no Solo Leveling, nothing from recent seasonal anime. Color charts are not standard with every purchase.
Pricing: $7–$12 depending on complexity.
Best for: Classic and Big Three series. Not the right choice for current or seasonal releases.

Anixstitch is a newer site built specifically around anime embroidery. The curation reflects genuine fandom knowledge. The catalog is still growing.
What they do well: Focused on anime only — no filler categories. Design choices feel like they were made by someone who actually watches the shows.
What’s weaker: Catalog depth is limited. Format inclusion and color charts are inconsistent. No significant customer gallery to evaluate real results.
Pricing: $5–$8.
Best for: Supporting a dedicated newer source. Check if your specific series is covered before deciding.

The Digitizing Studio is an anime-focused embroidery shop that also offers full custom digitizing — meaning they’ll build a file from your reference image on request. Both their ready-made catalog and custom service target the anime market.
What they do well: Custom digitizing on demand. For a specific character pose, a unique scene, or something not in any ready-made catalog, this is one of the most established options for commission work.
What’s weaker: Pricing is higher than pure download sites. Turnaround for custom work adds time. For impulse purchases of a specific character design, faster options exist.
Pricing: $9–$15 for ready-made, higher for custom.
Best for: Custom digitizing from your own image. For ready-made downloads, better value elsewhere.

Designs Pack is a large general marketplace with an anime section. Volume is high, quality variance is also high. Price point is the lowest available.
What they do well: Cheap. Common characters at budget prices — often fine for simple projects.
What’s weaker: Inconsistent quality — some designs are excellent, others are clearly auto-digitized. No color charts as standard. The anime section isn’t curated separately.
Pricing: $3–$8.
Best for: Budget projects with common characters. Test a cheap file first.

EmbroideryTrend covers a broad range of embroidery styles. Their anime section is thin and not a primary focus. Worth mentioning for completeness; not the destination for anime specifically.
Pricing: $4–$7.
An embroidery design file is a set of machine instructions — not an image. It tells your embroidery machine where to move, what color to load, how tight to stitch, when to cut and when to stop. A PNG of Gojo Satoru is not an embroidery design. A PES file of Gojo — built path by path, stitch by stitch, by a human digitizer — is. Check out our Best Jujutsu Kaisen Embroidery Designs to see our selection.
This distinction matters because quality is entirely in the digitizing. Two files can look identical as product thumbnails and produce wildly different results on fabric. A well-digitized design has clean pull compensation so edges stay sharp as fabric stretches, proper underlay so the top layer sits flat, and stitch density calibrated for the size you’re working at. A poorly digitized one puckers, shows gaps, or takes three times as long because the stitch count is inflated.
This is why auto-digitized files — converted from images by software — tend to disappoint on anime art. Anime has strong outlines, specific color fills and stylized shading that automatic conversion handles badly. The files worth buying are hand-digitized, path by path, by someone who understands how thread actually behaves on fabric.
Catalog depth and category coverage — How many categories? How many designs per series? Dedicated landing page per series, or everything in one pile?
Formats per purchase — Does one purchase give you all major machine formats, or do you pay extra for your machine’s format?
Color chart availability — Thread color reference included, or matching by eye?
Effective pricing after discounts — The real per-design cost, not the listed price before codes.
Transparency — Who made the designs? Is there a person or team identifiable behind the catalog?
Social proof — Customer photos of actual stitchouts. Thread on fabric, not renders or mockups.
You want the widest anime catalog: Cloud Designs — 150 categories, 4,000+ designs, consistent quality from one creator.
You want to compare designs from multiple creators: Browse both Cloud Designs and Embroiplanet. Different creators, different interpretations of the same characters.
You’re on a tight budget: Designs Pack for the lowest prices on common characters. Cloud Designs’ Buy 3 Get 1 Free brings cost to ~$5.24/design for consistent quality.
You want classic series with a reliable track record: Embrovision for the Big Three.
You need custom digitizing — your own image into an embroidery file: The Digitizing Studio for commission work.
You’re new and want to test before spending anything: Free anime embroidery design — no email, no signup, direct download.
Cloud Designs has the largest One Piece catalog with 500+ designs covering the Straw Hat crew, Warlords, Marine admirals and more. Embroiplanet has around 373 One Piece designs. Embrovision and others have solid selections for the main characters but at lower volumes.
Cloud Designs offers one free design with no email required — direct download here. Embroiplanet also has a free designs category with several options. Quality varies across free sources; always test on a fabric scrap before committing to a real project.
Anime characters are copyrighted intellectual property. Buying an embroidery file gives you the right to use it as specified by the seller — generally personal use and small fan projects. Selling embroidered goods commercially requires a license from the IP holder. This applies to every site on this list.
Brother machines use PES format. Brother PE800, SE700, PE550D and most other Brother embroidery machines all read PES. Sites that include all six formats let you skip this check — just pick the PES file from the zip.
A design download site sells pre-made files ready to stitch immediately. A digitizing service builds a custom file from your specific reference image. Downloads are faster and cheaper. Custom digitizing costs more but gives you exactly what you need when no ready-made design exists for a particular scene or pose.
About the author
Agathe — embroidery designer and founder of Cloud Designs
I’ve been hand-digitizing anime embroidery designs since 2021. I’ve personally bought files from the competing sites on this list, stitched them out on my machine, and compared results first-hand. Every design in the Cloud Designs catalog was made by me, tested before release, and published only when I was satisfied. I wrote this comparison because honest information serves embroiderers better than a ranking page that crowns itself without saying why.
